November's Books

Meg Lanslow, now married with twin boys, joins her family on a cruise in the Caribbean. Her grandfather, an expert on vanishing species, has been hired to lecture on board and lead field trips in the Bahamas. A woman jumps overboard in an apparent suicide, and her grandfather’s assistant goes missing. The captain doesn’t investigate, so Meg and her family try to discover what happened. The cruise is a disaster, and this book isn’t a good one to take along to read in a deck chair, because the reader will start imagining all sorts of awful things are just around the corner. A great series, and lots of fun.

October's Books

Katelyn Hamm, a fellow game warden of Joe Pickett, told him someone was chasing down elk and mule deer with a drone, and some of the animals were killed or wounded. The drone belongs to the father of Joe’s daughter Lucy’s boyfriend, who lives in a highly guarded compound with a couple of thugs who seem very out of place in the Wyoming wilderness.
When the game wardens attempt to cite the offender, they both get threatening visits from the FBI. Meanwhile, a gang of assassins has killed a couple and are setting up on Joe’s territory. Not only do they plan on killing their target, but they leave no witnesses. Joe doesn’t like to be warned off a case, and he follows his leads to the end even if it puts his career and life in jeopardy. Another great book in this exciting, long-running series.
